Bin Zhang is an independent PI working in the Curiel lab.
Dr. Zhang's work functions as an integrated translational research program
with the goal of designing and developing new immunotherapies and
immunologic strategies for cancer treatment and prevention. The project is
focused on effector and regulatory molecules controlling cancer specific
lymphocytes before and during immunotherapy, especially studying a negative
immunoregulatory mechanism used for immune evasion in tumor
microenvironment.
Ongoing studies involve:
- analysis and utilization of newly found costimulatory molecules from the perspective of cancer immunology;
- To develop a novel DC immunization strategy to overcome tumor-mediated
- immunosuppression;
- To study the age-related immune defect (Immunosenescence)
